Dr. Loher utilizes the Gonstead method of Chiropractic. This involves 5 different criteria we look at to determine if someone needs an adjustment including Instrumentation — The instrument of choice in the Gonstead System is the Nervoscope. The Nervoscope detects uneven distributions of heat along the spine which can be indicative of inflammation and nerve pressure. This instrument is guided down the length of your back and feels like two fingers gliding down each side of your spine.
Visualization — Visualization is a way to cross reference all the other findings. Your chiropractor is an expert in looking for subtle changes in your posture and movement which could indicate any problems.
Static Palpation — This is simply the process of feeling (or palpating) your spine in a stationary (or static) position. Your chiropractor will feel for the presence of swelling (or edema), tenderness and any abnormal texture or tightness in the muscles and other tissues of your back.
Motion Palpation — This process involves feeling the spine while moving and bending it at various angles. This enables the chiropractor to determine how easily or difficult each segment in your spine moves in different directions.
X-Ray Analysis — X-ray films enable your doctor to visualize the entire structure of your spine. This is helpful in evaluating posture, joint and disc integrity, vertebral misalignments and ruling out any pathologies, or recent fractures that may be present or contributing to the patient’s condition. These full-spine radiographs are taken in the standing, weight-bearing position to fully substantiate the examination findings.

Dr. Terry Loher has always had a heart for helping others. Not only did he serve in the United States Navy for seven years as a hospital corpsman, but he also worked as a paramedic during his time off until he was honorably discharged due to a severe neck injury that left him with constant neck pain, immense headaches, and continuous arm numbness. Desperate for relief, he was referred to and sought out a trusted chiropractor that would prove to change his life forever.

ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENTS With his restored hope and newfound passion for chiropractic care, Dr. Loher went on to attend Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. There, he had the honor of studying under Dr. Richard Burns, a prestigious professor who unforgettably drove home the principles and core values of chiropractic care.

By 2005, Dr. Loher was a practicing chiropractor, and in 2010, he began Vida Chiropractic.

Dr. Loher is a firm believer in continued education. Through regular research and learning, he is able to stay up to date and provide the best possible care to his patients and family members. For years, Dr. Loher was trained in upper-cervical techniques by Dr. Andy Roberts, and he is currently working towards becoming a diplomate of the Gonstead Clinical Studies Society (GCSS).

“When you think you know it all, the learning stops. Looking to my mentors and other chiropractors that I really respect, every once in a while, I learn something new.”

FAMILY MAN Outside the practice, Dr. Loher enjoys spending time with his children and participating in outdoor activities, such as hiking and swimming. When he is not on the sidelines of a sporting event or breathing in nature, he finds great joy in traveling. As a lover of learning, Dr. Loher also dedicates a great deal of time to reading and expanding his knowledgebase.
